The two third grade lessons are based on the Spanish text, El Juego de la lotería by René Colato Laínez and the English text, Alma and How She Got Her Name by Juana Martinez-Neal. For each of these lessons, we recommend using a shortened, modified text for the repeated readings after reading the entire text once as a read aloud either on or before the first lesson day. Under Lotería, you will find the lesson plan, vocabulary resources, photo cards, and the modified text. Under Alma, you will find the lesson plan, a family tree and vocabulary resources, a graphic organizer and the modified text.
