11/11 TEDx to feature Mara Mintzer

Mara Mintzer, program director for Growing Up Boulder, will speak at TEDxMileHigh 2017:Wonder Nov. 11 at the Bellco Theatre in Denver.  Mintzer is among 18 finalists out of an applicant pool of around 1,700.

Although speakers are not allowed to divulge the exact content of their speeches, Mintzer said her talk will be related to her current work at Growing Up Boulder, where she helps integrate children and youth voices into Boulder's city planning.

"At Growing Up Boulder, we challenge adults, undergraduates, youth and children to work together and listen to each other," Mintzer says. "I want people to realize how capable children and youth are at shaping the world around them. Working with low-income children and youth, I've been amazed by how insightful and creative young people are."   

Growing Up Boulder, is a program of the University of Colorado Boulder's Community Engagement Design and Research Center (CEDaR).
