First Year Students
Welcome to Leeds! If you’re an incoming student and not sure where to begin, your first step should be to complete the online welcome experience found on the New Student Welcome Programs website.
After completing the online experience, if you have any questions about getting started at Leeds please contact the advising office at (303) 492-6515. We would be happy to meet with you in person or through a phone appointment.
First Year Advising
We have a comprehensive advising program designed to assist first year students with the transition to Leeds. You will have two mandatory advising meetings with your first-year advisor- one in the fall and one in the spring. Your first year advisor will help you explore your interests and goals, think about ways to get involved on campus, and help you with any transition issues you may be having.
Fall Advising Requirement
All first-year students are required to meet with their academic advisor before registering for the spring semester. This is to help you stay on track and assist you with starting your four-year planning. Spring registration will take place in November – check MyCUInfo for your specific registration time and date.
If you are in a first-year seminar class (BADM 1250): Your advisor will come to your class for an advising workshop. This will fulfill your advising requirement and lift the registration hold. Although you are welcome to schedule an individual appointment with your advisor, all information regarding spring registration will be covered in the class.
If you are NOT enrolled in BADM 1250: You must schedule an individual appointment with your academic advisor to get the registration hold lifted. Please schedule your appointment well in advance of your assigned registration date so that you are not held back from registering. To schedule an appointment with your advisor, go to here. If you are not sure who your first-year advisor is, you can look it up on MyCUInfo.
Spring Advising Requirement
All first-year students are required to attend a group advising workshop with their first-year advisor before registering for the fall semester. This is to help you stay on track, explore options, and make informed decisions when registering for classes. Workshops will begin in March, and first-year students will receive an email from their advisor in February with details. Fall registration will take place in April – check “View My Enrollment Times” in MyCUInfo for your specific registration time and date.
