Nominations, deadlines and proposals: January Roundup
On the third Monday of the month CU-Boulder Today publishes a roundup of deadlines, calls for proposals and calls for nominations that have come through our information channels.
This month, the list includes several important nomination deadlines, many of which fall on or near Valentine's Day. Plan ahead now for nominations for the Distinguished Research Lecturer, the Hazel Barnes Prize, or the Marinus Smith award. Study abroad, PTSP, COLTT, and Foreign Language and Area Studies also have deadlines on the horizon.
January 2014
Jan. 26, 2014: Deadlines for some summer study abroad programs are as early as Jan. 26. Deadlines for summer and fall 2014 study abroad applications range from Jan. 26 – March 2.
Jan. 27, 2014: Deadline for U.S. undergraduate students to apply for the Boren Scholarship. Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Jan. 28, 2014: Deadline for U.S. graduate students to apply for the Boren Fellowship. Boren Fellowships provide up to $30,000 to add an international and language component to students’ graduate education through specialization in area study, language study, or increased language proficiency in Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Jan. 31, 2013: Deadline to apply for the Faculty and Staff Tuition Benefit.
Jan. 2014: COLTT call for proposals opens.
February 2014
Feb. 1, 2014: Competition opens for 2015-2016 core Fulbright Scholar Program.
Feb. 7, 2014: Deadline for initial campus submission for pre-award review, 2014 Boettcher Foundation Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards Program.
Feb. 12, 2014: Nominations deadline for the 2014 Distinguished Research Lecturer.
Feb. 14, 2014: Boulder Faculty Assembly Excellence Awards call for nominations deadline.
Feb. 14, 2014: Deadline for nominations for the 2014 Hazel Barnes Prize.
Feb. 14, 2014: Deadline for nominations for the Marinus Smith Award, recognizing faculty and staff members who have had a particularly positive impact on our undergraduates.
March 2014
Mar. 4, 2014: Deadline for summer and fall 2014, and academic year 2014-15 study abroad students to apply for the Gilman. The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.
