Sara Beck
Sara studied aerospace engineering and studio art at the University of Colorado Boulder and worked as a NASA flight controller for a number of years. She became interested in environmental engineering while volunteering as cofounder and president of the Central Houston Professional Partners chapter of Engineers Without Borders – USA. After receiving her M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Tech, Sara joined Linden’s group in 2010. She is researching fundamental aspects of UV disinfection of viruses to assist in the design of small-scale UV disinfection technologies. Sara is an EPA STAR fellow, PEO Scholar, and 2014-2015 Fulbright Scholar. She enjoys traveling, mountaineering, triathlons, and other endurance events.
