C4C Garden to Table Partnership recieves $2,500 Grant

The C4C Garden to Table Partnership between ENVD and Housing and Dining Services received a $2,500 grant from Sustainable CU to fund fabrication of tomato cages (designed by ENVD student Ben Seaman), print signage (designed by ENVD students Erin Hauer, Mariah Hermsmeyer, and Bodie Hultin) and to expand plantings for the year.  Erin Hauer, Tory Moore, and Ben Seaman collaborated in the grant writing

DigiFab displays work at Hangar 41

ENVD Instructor Marcus Farr's Digital Fabrication studio displays their work from this semester in an exhibit at Hangar 41 Gallery in Denver.  The work was viewed by more than 1000 people as part of the opening night of the Santa Fe Art District First Friday Artwalk and Doors Open Denver.  It includes digitally fabricated wood, veneer, paper, cardboard materials.

New Environmental Design Minor Launches

CU-Boulder’s Program in Environmental Design is launching a new minor, to begin this fall, with three possible tracks: design, history and theory, and planning.  

The Environmental Design minor is open to all students on campus and provides a foundation in theory, history, and methodology employed in fields such as architecture, planning, landscape architecture and related design disciplines.

GUB & Green Neighborhood work with Whittier Elementary featured in Daily Camera

The Whittier students, along with students at Boulder High, are working with environmental design classes at the University of Colorado on a redevelopment plan for CU's family and graduate housing. Growing Up Boulder and the city also are part of the project.

"We want to show kids that their opinions are being heard and really matter," said Tori Derr, faculty coordinator at Growing Up Boulder and an environmental design senior instructor.

ENVD Instructor Marianne Holbert Presents her Outreach Project at University of Manitoba Symposium
