Established in July 2022, the Staff Leadership Team has been charged to work as a cohesive unit to lead, assess and support the program’s culture of development and engagement amongst staff, and will play an integral role in realizing the program’s core mission while working with ENVD Director Stacey Schulte, the Executive Committee and Executive Leadership team to support the goals and needs of the program.

In spring 2023, four students submitted work to the Milan Affordable Housing Challenge, a design competition part of the Buildner’s architecture competition series. The series is aimed at addressing the global housing crisis and redefining urban living.

Evan Faucher will graduate with a B.EnvD specializing in environmental product design and plans to live in New Zealand for a year.

Carr Tancig will earn a B.EnvD specializing in architecture with a minor in business and plans to go abroad to Italy this summer before entering the workforce.

Congratulations to the 2023-2024 scholarship and awards recipients!

This month, Environmental Design alumna Kate Sector and co-writers Nathan Jones and Shawhin Roudbari will be recognized by The Boulder Heritage Roundtable for their book “An Architecture of Dialogue: Learning from the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse.”

Julia Rodriguez, an architecture major from the San Francisco Bay Area, considers finding her community at CU Boulder as one of her greatest experiences at ENVD.

For Davis Velte, an architecture major minoring in business, graduating represents the culmination of a lot of hard work, learning and lots and lots of studio hours.

A day-long event was organized through a collaboration between the Renée Crown Wellness Institute and the Community Engagement, Design and Research Center (CEDaR). The occasion featured four innovative professionals who have engaged in research and programs centered around connecting communities to nature to address key health issues.

The Environmental Design First Year Experience (FYE) Program completed a legacy project and brightened up the first-year studios with fun, geometric murals, now nicknamed “The Underground.”
