Senior Instructor Marcel de Lange's ENVD PRAXIS studio project, TREExOFFICE, featured in the Daily Camera and CU Boulder Today

TREExOFFICE is an outdoor urban co-working space inspired by artist Natalie Jeremijenko and designed and built by CU Program in Environmental Design students under the guidance of ENVD faculty member Marcel de Lange with assistance from Studio NYL Structural Engineers. The project is located in front of the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art.

Dreamers and other teens provide design suggestions for local city park

Boulder, Colorado (May 11, 2016) - On Saturday, high schoolers from the "I Have a Dream" program, Adelante!, and Boulder Housing Partners will participate in a Design Workshop with Growing Up Boulder, a "child- and youth-friendly city initiative" that is based out of the the University of Colorado-Boulder's Community Engagement Design and Research Center (CEDaR) and Environmental Design Program.

ENVD Instructors Justin Bellucci and Kim Drennan win first place at CU-Boulder's New Venture Challenge

Justin and Kim's team, Hive Tech Solutions, made it to the finals after already winning the Women Entrepreneur’s Prize of $10,000, General Track Finals Prize of $4500 and they were finalists for the Social Impact Prize.  Their team has been working on design solutions that impact the health of honeybees as they travel across the country to pollinate crops.

The Masters of the Environment is a new and interdisciplinary professional master's degree at CU-Boulder.  It is a 17-month, cohort based program starting in the Fall of 2016.  The on-line application process is now open and applications are due by Januray 15th. Shawhin Roudbari joins ENVD faculty as assistant professor

The ENVD Program is happy to announce that Shawhin Roudbari (above right) has joined our faculty as an assistant professor. Shawhin completed his PhD in Architecture from the College of Environmental Design at the University of California Berkeley in 2013; he also holds two master’s degrees.

ENVD Lecturer Sarah Spencer-Workman collaborating on LEED Lab in Middle East

Sarah Spencer-Workman, LEED AP, in conjunction with the US Green Building Council (USGBC) Center for Green Schools, is working with the American University in Cairo to establish the first LEED Lab in the Middle East. Sarah is advising faculty in the Department of Construction and Architectural Engineering on the curriculum development and beginning the course offering in the Spring 2016 semester.

ENVD Senior Instructor MICHAEL TAVEL honored as Outstanding Alum

Michael Tavel, Senior Instructor at ENVD, gave a talk at the University of Toledo, Ohio, on October 9th titled “Sustainability As Creative Practice.”  Michael was brought to Toledo be honored as an Outstanding Alumnus during homecoming week.  Events also included an award ceremony and short film about Michael shown at a gala dinner, riding in the homecoming parade, and a skybox at the football game.
