John
P. Jackson, Instructor, is the Course Coordinator for Public Speaking
(Comm 1300) and Argumentation (Comm 3310). He also teaches on the rhetoric
of social movements and the rhetoric of race and race relations. His research
interests surround the rhetoric of objectivity, especially in the interactions
of science and law in American culture. His has published articles in
History of Psychology, Isis, Journal of Social Issues, and Journal
of the History of Biology. His book, Social Scientists for Social
Justice: Making the Case Against Segregation, will be published by
New York University Press in spring 2002. His Ph.D. was granted by the
University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (1997).
