Who We ServeTRiO Students graduating in 2016

We serve undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • neither parent graduated from a four-year college;
  • qualify as low-income under federal income guidelines;
  • have a documented disability on file with CU's Office of Disability Services.

In addition to the above criteria, we also serve students who:

  • have foster youth, unaccompanied, and/or independent status;
  • are homeless;
  • Military veterans.

How to Apply to the Program

Students must apply and meet eligibility requirements to participate.  All applications will be reviewed for eligibility for the Guardian Scholars program as well as the TRiO SSS Program.

For Summer Ready, we accept 30 students each year to provide a more personalized experience. Students who are not accepted into the Summer Ready Program will be considered for Fall Gateway, a 2-day academic intensive program 1 week prior to the start of the fall semester. We accept applications year-round.
