<p>Sabrina Sideris, program director of CU-Boulder's <a href="http://communitystudies.colorado.edu/">INVST Community Studies</a>, takes great pride in working with CU students to help them learn to become engaged citizens and leaders.</p>

<p>John A. Ikard, president and CEO of FirstBank Holding Company, will deliver a talk titled "Leading an Ethical Organization in a Sometimes Unethical World" on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 5:30 p.m. in the Wittemyer Courtroom at the Wolf Law Building on the University of Colorado Boulder campus.</p>

<p>The University of Colorado Boulder has announced Thomas Krannawitter, Ph.D., as a finalist for the position of Visiting Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy for the 2015-16 academic year. Krannawitter will visit the CU-Boulder campus and give a talk titled “The Problem of Slavery in the American Founding.”  He will explore what the existence of slavery in the early days of the United States, and efforts made to end it, tell us today about the American character.</p>

<p>Up for a romantic Valentine’s Day evening? Then head to the University of Colorado Boulder’s Fiske Planetarium to <em>Relativity for Lovers – A Valentine’s Day Among the Stars</em>, for music, film and a talk on the genius of Albert Einstein.</p>

<p>The Tibetan Association of Colorado (TAC) and the University of Colorado Boulder will co-host a campus visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Oct. 20 and 21, 2015, both groups announced today.</p>
<p>A schedule of events at CU-Boulder is still being finalized. The schedule and ticket information will be announced in the months ahead.</p>

<p>The annual Geminid meteor shower could be a fun show this weekend for Coloradans weather permitting, according to a University of Colorado Boulder astronomer.</p>

<p class="p1">On Tuesday, Dec. 9, renowned neuroscientists and psychologists will share research-based mental training techniques that have been shown to improve well-being and contribute to happiness, creativity and productivity. The community lecture is free and open to the public beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the University of Colorado Boulder’s Macky Auditorium.</p>
<p class="p1">The event, “Well-being Is a Skill,” will be led by Richard J. Davidson, University of Wisconsin-Madison professor of psychology and psychiatry and founder of the Center for Investigating Healthy Minds.</p>

<p>A measles vaccine made of fine dry powder and delivered with a puff of air triggered no adverse side effects in early human testing and it is likely effective, according to a paper to be published November 28 in the journal <em>Vaccine. </em>The paper is now available <a href="http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0264410X14013620">online</a>.</p>

<p>A novel, low-cost method of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) developed at the University of Colorado Boulder and successfully used in human clinical trials in Belgium has been awarded a “Best of What’s New Award” from Popular Science magazine in 2014 in the health category.</p>

<p>Two NASA and one European spacecraft, including NASA’s MAVEN mission led by the University of Colorado Boulder, have gathered new information about the basic properties of a wayward comet that buzzed by Mars Oct. 19, directly detecting its effects on the Martian atmosphere.</p>
