- Starting in the spring of 2022, CU Boulder's telephone service will begin a phased transition from Cisco to Microsoft.
- Planted in 1879 or 1880, the “Old Main cottonwood” is the oldest and tallest tree on campus. At more than 140 years old, 110 feet tall and 19 feet in circumference at the base of the trunk, it has outlived and outgrown all other campus cottonwoods that were planted at the end of the 19th century.
- Seven new grants have been awarded to CU Anschutz Medical Campus and CU Boulder faculty who are collaborating to improve human wellbeing through innovative research projects.
- The American Educational Research Association selected CU Boulder Associate Professor Elizabeth Meyer for the AERA Award for Distinguished Contributions to Gender Equity in Education Research. There will be a ceremony at 4 p.m. on Dec. 7.
- The National Academy of Inventors has announced that CU Boulder researchers Richard Noble and Theodore Randolph have been named as 2021 fellows.
- The Little Nell Hotel Group and CU Boulder have entered into an agreement to develop a Limelight-branded conference center and hotel at the northwest corner of campus that will be a destination for high-profile events and experiences linking the university, research, business and nonprofit communities in Boulder.
- Forever Buff Jessica Yan was chosen for the highly selective Schwarzman Scholar program. Next year, she will begin a master’s program in global affairs at Beijing’s Tsinghua University.
- Members of the Boulder Faculty Assembly told Provost Russell Moore they were unsatisfied with the amount of information shared with them so far on how the campus will implement the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
- CU Boulder Provost Russell Moore has named Dyonne Bergeron to the post of acting vice provost and associate vice chancellor for diversity, equity and inclusion, effective Jan. 1, 2022.
- The Deming Center shined among the top entrepreneurship programs in the world for its trailblazing initiative for CU’s student-athletes, Buffs With a Brand.
