- On Wednesday, Feb. 15, most scholarships within the CU Boulder Scholarship Application are due and it’s the last day to withdraw from CU and only be assessed 40 percent tuition.
- Do you want to knock out a few credit hours before the fall? Did you struggle to fit a core or required class into your schedule this spring? Consider taking classes this summer.
- The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) has elected Distinguished Professor Daniel J. Scheeres, a CU Boulder aerospace engineer who has an asteroid named after him, and Adjunct Professor Philippe Spalart, a Boeing Technical Fellow, to its 2017 class. Election to the NAE is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer.
- Scholarship Services invites faculty and staff to participate in the selection of 2017-18 scholarship recipients. This is a great opportunity to learn more about student interests, activities and contributions.
- Faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) voted in September to implement a new set of General Education requirements that will replace the current A&S Core Curriculum. The implementation process began with appointment of the General Education Implementation Committee (GEIC), an ad hoc committee of the Arts and Sciences Council.
- In an effort to make creating courses in Desire2Learn (D2L) easier, the Office of Information Technology invites faculty to participate in a D2L course-creation usability study.
- Tuition and fees can be paid over the course of each semester by enrolling in payment plans. Saturday, Feb. 4, is the last day to enroll for the 2017 spring semester.
- Mary Kraus and Larry Levine update the campus community on the learning management system evaluation initiative, including recent progress and next steps.
- The University of Colorado Boulder released a request for qualifications for concept design of a 30,000-gross-square-foot addition to the Koelbel Building that will enhance programming for both the Leeds School of Business and the College of Engineering and Applied Science.
- Under a new program called Making Teaching and Learning Visible, faculty will have access to a trove of best teaching practices. “There is so much hidden when it comes to teaching,” Assistant Professor Peter Newton said. “To the extent we can share experiences, successes, and failures in the classroom, we can develop ourselves as better teachers.”
