Are you registered to vote?

Whether you are voting in Colorado or your home state, act now to ensure you receive a ballot or can vote in person on election day.

In-state students
If you plan to vote (either in Boulder or your home county), please register or confirm your registration at www.GoVoteColorado.gov. The deadline to register to vote by mail in Colorado is Oct. 26, 2020.

Out-of-state students
Look up your own state's deadlines to request an absentee ballot with plenty of time before the November election, or you may choose to register to vote in Boulder County at www.GoVoteColorado.gov

Students living on campus
Whether voting in Colorado or via absentee ballot from your home state, there is a specific way you must list your on-campus address in your voter registration so your ballot can find you. Visit Boulder County’s Student Voting Guidelines page for instructions.

Ways to vote

Once you’re registered to vote, you have options for casting your ballot.

Mail-in voting
Colorado voters have the opportunity to mail in their completed ballot before Nov. 3. If you choose this route, be sure to fill out your ballot and mail it as soon as you’re ready to avoid any issues with potential delays impacting the U.S. Postal Service.

Absentee voting
Every state offers mail-in absentee voting. Make sure to check your home state’s rules on absentee voting and who is eligible. These rules might have changed due to COVID-19. Check out these useful tips for absentee voting.

On-campus voting
Starting Oct. 19, you can visit the UMC Vote Center to register, vote in person or call ahead to order your ballot to go. For the last two days of the election, Nov. 2 and Nov. 3, an additional Vote Center will open at Williams Village for in-person registration, in-person voting or picking up your ballot to go.

Other options in Boulder: To find additional Ballot Drop Boxes or Voting Service and Polling Centers in Boulder County, please visit the county’s election information site.
