Families

Family with student.

Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution (SCCR) educates students to make better decisions in the future while also holding them accountable. We want families to understand our effective processes and help support students as they grow.

Honor Code and Student
Code of Conduct

These codes and processes outline the policies and values that make us Buffs. Families can help students succeed in their academic and personal lives by:

  • Educating themselves on the student conduct process.
  • Supporting your student through the resolution process if they violate the Honor Code or Student Code of Conduct.
  • Encouraging your student to have a positive impact.

Help us help your student

Report an Incident

Report incidents such as suspected hazing to SCCR. Hazing refers to any activity expected of someone joining a group (or to maintain full status in a group) that humiliates, degrades, or risks emotional and/or physical harm, regardless of the person's willingness to participate.

Amnesty Policy

Help your student understand that they will not be subject to university sanctions if they call for help in an alcohol- or drug-related emergency. Calling for help is always the right thing to do.

Additional Support

If you need confidential support, counseling, legal assistance or guidance to navigate resources during a crisis, CU Boulder has multiple support departments to help.

Don't ignore it, report it.

There are options for students, faculty and staff, and families to report concerns. Don't ignore mental health concerns, racism, harassment, discriminatory actions, unwanted sexual behavior, abuse in a relationship, stalking, other interpersonal violence and abusive conduct.
