Marithza Flores

As a daughter of immigrant parents, finding confidence in my ability to succeed academically has been a daunting task. I believe that this program would help me with networking and connecting with likeminded individuals who demonstrate commitment to research. Being accepted into the program will better allow me to prepare for dental school. Being bilingual has allowed me to create supportive networks which have allowed me the ability to translate and help individuals gain confidence to communicate and advocate for themselves; this has become the driving force behind all of my community involvement. I have worked as a dental assistant for many years and through my volunteer work have been able to interact with a diverse population. I would like to become further involved with the CU/Boulder community.
