I applied to work for STUDIO because I did not want to miss this opportunity to experience the world of academic research in the social sciences. Such research provides fascinating insights into our societies, and it is very possible that I might choose to pursue a career in academic research in economics or political science. I’m very excited for the year ahead with STUDIO because I can already tell how much I will learn from the experience! First, I can’t wait to gain proficiency in using data analysis tools such as Stata, which will definitely challenge me and potentially motivate me to seek more opportunities to expand those skills after the year is over. Second, I’m excited to enter a community of people who are also engaged in social science research. I will learn so much from discussions with my mentors and peers regarding our various studies and their implications. Most importantly, I’m thrilled that I will be able to contribute to research that is answering important questions about our society.
