Roudy Hildreth is an Associate Teaching Professor who chairs the Leadership and Community Engagement Major in the School of Education. 
 
From 2019-2025 he was Executive Director of CU Engage: Center for Community Based Learning and Research and was Associate Director from 2015-2019. Roudy also served as Associate Professor and Distinguished Teacher of Political Science at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he was the founding faculty director of the Center for Service-Learning and Volunteerism. 
 
Roudy has worked with the Public Achievement program nationally and internationally since 1996. As a graduate student, Roudy co-developed PA’s international curriculum at the Center for Democracy and Citizenship at the University of Minnesota. He has written three editions of the coaches' manual, a teacher's manual, and has published four scholarly articles on the program.  In addition to his research on PA he has also published two books and numerous scholarly articles and book chapters on community-based pedagogy, democratic theory, the political philosophy of John Dewey, youth civic engagement, and qualitative research.
