During the 2019-2020 school year Public Achievement students across three schools (Casey MS, Angevine MS, and Centautus HS) alongside college Public Achievement coaches from CU Boulder worked to understand the most pressing resources needed for students experiencing the lived reality or threat of family separation through deportation.  Part of the students work was speaking with the shool board and presenting a letter of requests for more family separation resources in BVSD, student led-research inluding student testimonies, and resources to distribute to teachers and in schools.  This was Public Achievment's last in-person gathering, event or action before COVID-19 moved all of our programming virtual.  Read more about their efforts and hear their voices here: https://www.dailycamera.com/2020/03/15/bvsd-students-lobby-for-more-fami...
