Loss is inevitable. Yet, in the darkest of times, light manages to find a way. With this project, I’d like to share with you a look into the most trying time of my life.

My name is Matthew von Tscharner, but you can call me by the nickname my mom gave me, Chi Chi. I grew up in Greenwood Village, Colorado, but my home has always been the ocean. I feel the happiest when I’m in nature, and I try to emulate that feeling for everyone in my work.

November 24th 2019, I lost my mother unexpectedly. For the longest time, I kept trying to find her. Things went pretty silent, until I realized something… All I had to do was just listen. And boy, does she sound beautiful. Sit back, watch, and truly try to listen, as I bring you along for a look into a part of my life I have never publicly addressed, until now.
Mom, I love you, and I know you are smiling down.
