Created through Unity, this project aims to closely resemble and emulate the real-life concert experience through POV virtual reality using VR headsets.
A media production student from Hong Kong, Gerald was always drawn to the diversity and creativity the CMDP program offered. Initially, into graphic designing, the CMDP program allowed him to explore various mediums such as photography, film, audio, VR, etc. In his junior year, he became interested in VR and extended realities and loved the unprecedented challenges the medium brought him.
Experience a VR concert featuring Mac Miller, where everything around you is all in a virtual world with virtual audiences. With the assistance of the Oculus headsets, you will also be able to view the performance from different angles and locations – making this more of an immersive VR piece rather than interactive. Mac Miller’s latest album, Circles, which consisted of his unreleased tracks, was a huge hit – but sadly never got to do a tour due to his death. Because people never got to see Mac perform hits from his latest album, hopefully, this project will pay tribute to his artistry and musicality.
