Jacqueline Sandstedt (She/Hers)
Jacqueline Sandstedt is an emerging vérité style documentarian with a passion for social impact storytelling. She graduated in 2022 with a BA in both economics and media production from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She previously worked as an AV technician as well as lead video producer for the college of performing arts at CU Boulder. Originally from Chicago, now based in Boulder, she is pursuing a career in documentary filmmaking and photojournalism, with an emphasis in portrait photography. She spends much of her time outdoors, refining her craft. Combining realism with the sublime are themes that consistently prevail within each of her works.
SANDGALS
This short film dissects the theme of family and continuity over time. Experiencing divorce as a child can be incredibly impactful and devastating to the trajectory of a child’s life, at least in the time with which it is occurring, altering perceptions of what it means to be a family. More than a decade has passed since the home films ended, but I am still in search of reasoning as to why things don’t always work out in the end.
