A mixed media website with photography, illustrations and gifs. The project is guided by the theme of the body's seven chakras. The illustrations tie in elements of the chakras to images of friendship, skiing and the outdoors.

I am a senior graduating with a BA in Media Production and a minor in Business. I have always been a photographer at heart, but am interested in all things creative from videography to graphic design. I grew up in Boulder, Colorado which sparked my curiosity for travel and outdoor adventure. I like to spend my time skiing, climbing, mountain biking, road tripping and doing various creative projects. I have a passion for nature and am hoping to mesh my love for the outdoors and creativity.

Rooted


 

Rooted is a website consisting of images, gifs and illustrations. The guiding theme of my project are the seven chakras within the body. Chakras are energy centers in the body that run from the base of your spine to the top of your head. The seven chakras (from base to head) are root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, crown. When I was beginning my project, I was searching for a through line between all the elements of my ski adventures. I wanted to find a message that was abstract and spiritual, so with the help of a friend, we landed on the chakras. The main energies the chakras bring when they are open are grounding, well being, self confidence, love, self expression, imagination and spiritual connection. All of these are feelings you can so deeply connect with through the process of skiing.
