Nikka Napolitan (She/Her)
Nikka Napolitan is a media production major at CU Boulder with an affinity for sound and video. After dipping her toes in multiple areas of expertise, she found that composing music for narrative scenes is most fulfilling. Her visual work paired with musical elements tend to explore personal elements of how she experiences the world around her. Her favorite media moments entail finding beauty in the darkest moments through colorful visuals and climactic melodies.
Process
Process is an exploration project, navigating some of the many phases of life we go through. The use of paper puppet stop motion along with curated music for each sequence, creates an optimistic take on the beauty of change and growth. Each song was self produced in an effort to capture the different mindsets she frequently faces as she battles her inner critic to allow creativity to flourish. This being her final project in her college career, she wanted to take this opportunity as a way to prove to herself what she is capable of while also soothing the heartache of moving on to the next step.
