Carson Becker is a photographer & filmmaker from Broomfield, CO. From a young age, Carson was drawn to filmmaking, initially making music videos on an old iPod nano. While the scope of his projects may have changed, his passion for telling a story has never wavered. He’s had the opportunity to work with some of his favorite brands & artists in creating digital content, including Tesla & Goth Babe. Throughout his time attending Boulder, Carson also had the privilege of being the photographer for the CU Basketball team & later shifting into a video creative position. Carson will be graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder in the Spring of 2022 with a degree in Media Production and a Business minor.
Merging 2D Photos into a 3D Model W/ Metashape
Photogrammetry is the process of taking 2D images and merging them into a volumetrically correct 3D model. Over the past 6 months I have spent countless hours researching through trial error what does and doesn’t work for creating these photogrammetry models. This tutorial includes walking through the best camera settings, how to best light for these models, and what angles to shoot at to achieve best results. In the tutorial I also cover the basics of the photogrammetry software, Metashape.
