Imagine if you could touch a story and know what it was about without seeing the pictures! This is what tactile literacy is all about – using layers, shapes and textures to recreate familiar stories into touchable picture books that people with visual impairments can touch, feel and love. In this three-part workshop, explore how the blind community understands things like words, pictures and shapes and then use fiber arts and some cool tools from our makerspace to build a better book – a touchable, engaging story experience accessible to all!

This is a great service project for teens.
