Soil Quality InQuiry Program
The Soil Quality InQuiry Program (SQ-IQ) is a new educational program developed by the Hannigan Lab and piloted in the Spring of 2022. This program has been taught in conjunction with the previously developed Air Quality InQuiry Program in several high schools across the Western Slope of Colorado.
SQIQ provides high school students with the opportunity to investigate soil quality questions in their hometown by utilizing the newly developed Soil Quality Pod.
CU Boulder provides the Pods, which measure temperature, carbon dioxide (CO2), moisture, and light.
Pods can be accessed through local high school chapters.
We’ve developed a 5 lesson Curriculum for high school classrooms to conduct their own research using the Pod.
CU Boulder Engineering students are available to help classrooms and communities use the Pods and troubleshoot technical issues. Contact us here with questions or for assistance.
