The Academic Affairs Budget Advisory Committee (AABAC), under the direction of Sr. Vice Provost Kaempfer, received a charge to develop a simple and understandable academic prioritization construct that accomplished the following:
- Uses quantitative data and metrics to shed light on programmatic efficiencies, space use, academic reputation, and teaching effectiveness on a unit-by-unit basis
- Provides insights in how each academic unit contributes to the strategic goals of the campus
- Can be refreshed on an annual basis
- Provides an adjunct to rather than a replacement of our existing periodic Academic Review and Planning Advisory Committee (ARPAC) review of academic programs
Committee members were challenged to reconcile the existing ARPAC and AABAC analyses to create a homogeneous set of results.
