Postdoc Paid Mentoring: Summer 2025

Are you looking for a fun and exciting opportunity to gain informal science education experience while sharing your love of learning with younger students?

CU Science Discovery is now accepting applications for TEACHING Opportunities for the 2025 Summer STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) camp programs.

Summer Camp STEM Instructors are typically undergraduate & graduate students in STEM or Education fields, in-service or retired STEM teachers. (However, highly motivated Juniors and Seniors can also apply. All other undergraduates are encouraged to apply for Teaching Assistant positions, applications for which will open in January 2025). STEM Instructors are asked to teach one or more weeks of camp throughout the summer season, depending on their interests and availability. They will be responsible for delivering camps that have already been developed and tested by Science Discovery with the support of a teaching assistant and a high school volunteer.

Key Points:

  • Summer will run a total of 8 weeks beginning June 2nd and ending August 1st with a week-long break for the 4th of July!
  • All Kindergarten-12th grade classes are one week long and will either be in a half day or a full day format, Monday-Friday.
  • Instructors are required and paid to be on site 30 minutes prior to class beginning as well as 30 minutes at the end of the class for clean up.
  • You will receive a teaching assistant who has experience in the specified field or is working towards a degree in the specified field.
  • Instructor Orientation will be held on Thursday, May 29th and is MANDATORY for ALL Science Discovery teachers regardless of having worked with us in the past.

Teaching salaries range from $19-$29/hour for in-person classes depending on your experience!
