Outstanding Mentor Award is open for nomination!

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) will be awarding  one Outstanding Mentor award during National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week (NPAW), September 19th – 23rd, 2016.

The Outstanding Mentor Award recognizes a faculty member who provides exemplary leadership and training to postdoctoral scholars at CU Boulder.

Eligibility: Must be a faculty member nominated by a Research Associate or Post-Doctoral Fellow at CU Boulder.

Nomination Information: One or more postdoctoral trainees may fill out an online nomination of their faculty mentor. Please complete only one nomination form per faculty member; multiple nominators may be listed using this form. 

Nominators must answer the following:

Please describe, using specific examples, how your mentor guides postdocs to accomplish intellectual and career development goals through leadership and advocacy (250 word limit).

How does your mentor create a supportive training environment that is suited to the individual needs of postdocs? Please provide specific examples, including how often your mentor gives regular, one-on-one feedback and counsel to individual postdocs (250 word limit).

Deadline: September 1st

Selection: Awards will be made to an eligible CU Boulder faculty members based on leadership, creating a supportive training environment suited to the needs of the individual postdoc, advocating for and guiding towards professional independence, and regular and constructive feedback to postdocs to develop their independent careers. The award will be judged by a panel of CU Boulder faculty.
