Suspect pleads guilty in residence hall burglaries

On Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, Nicholas Joseph Lorenzo (DOB 12/20/84), the suspect in the residence hall burglary cases in October 2018, pled guilty to 25 counts including second degree burglary and theft. Twenty-two of the 25 counts carry possible sentences of 4-24 years per count.
Last week, Lorenzo pled guilty in a case in Broomfield that was not associated with the CU Boulder case.
"We would not have gotten to this ending without the incredible hard work of many of our officers, investigators and evidence technicians," said CU Boulder Police Chief Doreen Jokerst. "I would like to specifically recognize Investigator Ruth Christopher and Evidence Technician Will Heskett. The work that they did over countless hours was integral in the arrest and final outcome."
Lorenzo will be sentenced in the CU Boulder case on April 10, 2020.
