Timely Warning: Unlawful sexual contact on Colorado Avenue
On Feb. 16, 2017 at approximately 11:52 p.m., the CU Boulder Police Department (“CUPD”) was notified of an unlawful sexual contact. The fondling occurred as two female students were walking eastbound on the north side of Colorado Avenue, just in front of St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church.
The victims reported that they were approached by a male who asked “Do you guys want to have some fun?” When the victims yelled “No!”, the suspect then grabbed one of the victim’s buttocks. That person was able to break away and they both ran to the south side of Colorado Avenue near parking lot 437. The suspect was last seen running north through the parking lot on the west side of St. Aidan’s Church.
The suspect is described as:
- Heavy-set, white male
- No facial hair
- Short, dark curly hair
- Wearing a black hoodie, jeans, and a red baseball cap with a green bill

- Sexual activity without consent (including with acquaintances, friends, or partners) is sexual assault.
- Consent cannot be obtained through coercion or threats.
- Use of alcohol or drugs may impair the ability to determine whether sexual activity is consensual.

- Don’t ignore situations that seem problematic or indicators that someone is trying to take advantage of a person who is vulnerable. Learn to recognize high-risk situations and how to intervene effectivelyeffective ways to intervene as a bystander and skills for supporting friends.
