PISEC collaborates and is supported by a number of other academic programs and institutions, including the following list of aligned and affiliated entities:

JILA Physics Frontier Center: The JILA PFC brings together 20 investigators in collaboration to share goals, ideas, expertise and technology in their aim to realize precise measurement, innovative manipulation, and harvesting ever-more intriguing meaning, all in the world of complex  quantum systems.

CU Physics Education Research Group: The Physics Education Research Group at Colorado (PER@CU) studies: uses of technology in physics education, assessments (conceptual, epistemological, and belief-oriented), theoretical models of students' learning physics, social and contextual foundations of student learning, examination of successful educational reforms and replication studies of such reforms, and student problem solving in physics.

Center for STEM Learning (CSL): The mission of the Center for STEM Learning (CSL) is to improve science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education at the University of Colorado Boulder, and to serve as a state, national, and international resource for such efforts.

IPER Network: The IPER Network provides a platform for enthusiastic adherents to the IPER vision to connect with and support one another while promoting and engaging in cutting-edge research and design to expand the frontier of informal physics education research.

PhET Interactive Simulations: the PhET Interactive Simulations project at the University of Colorado Boulder creates free interactive math and science simulations.
