This is my 15th year teaching in the public school setting and I have taught every grade in the K-12 school except for 1st and 2nd. I currently teach Biology, A&P, Phlebotomy, EKG tech, Patient Care Technician to amazing High School Students in Byers. I have a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science and love teaching anything nature related. I spend almost every summer with Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) in Buena Vista or Salida, Colorado as part of their summer teacher institute programming. I also run our CTE Health Certification program where we certify High School Students in a medical related cert. upon graduation. I worked in the ER before coming back to teaching 6 years ago. My co-teacher Shatzie and I wanted to be a part of the DASY program so we could do more collaboration between art/science and be a part of expanding the student’s ideas of what artists/scientists do.
