Taneil Uttal has been studying the atmosphere, especially clouds and radiation (the good kind from the sun!) for 47 years. Uttal considers hefself an atmospheric physicist and for the last 23 year has had the wonderful opportunity to work and study the Arctic. Uttal loves ice. She has been sketching and painting on the side working to address the challenge to capture the amazing scenes of water at the triple point - where ice and water and vapor co-exist. When you are in the Arctic you are in a place with no colors. In the winter there is no light. Even the animals are white.
