Elena Danilescu Russ

Elena Danilescu Russ is a passionate and dedicated art educator with many years of experience overseas and in USA inspiring students to explore their creativity through various mediums. Skilled and passionate about teaching the Visual Arts, fostering students’ leadership, a positive classroom environment, and developing engaging curriculum to enhance students' creative skills and appreciation for critical thinking and visual beauty. Her education and experience are a combination of two worlds. Born and raised in former Soviet Union, she started with a school of visual arts, next A. Plamadeala College of Visual Arts and pedagogy, and then The Academy of Visual Arts in Republic of Moldova with a degree in visual arts, fiber arts and pedagogy. She served as a missionary and a summer camp coordinator in christian camps for orphan children in her birth country. In the US she became a part of the “Up with People” program. Later she became an intern, then a student at Ravenrcrest Bible school in Estes Park, also finishing a leadership second year program. She went on to get a Master’s Degree in Education and Leadership from CSU. Currently she is 9th year teaching visual arts at Lyons Elementary School.
