CU Science Cohort 2021
Aerospace Engineering Sciences

Vishal Ray is a PhD candidate in Aerospace Engineering and Sciences, funded by NASA’s FINESST grant. His research is on modeling of atmospheric drag effects on satellite orbits to improve tracking of satellites around Earth and other planetary atmospheres. Currently, he is serving as a member of the International Student Advisory Board for the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences which aims to be a support system for international students on campus. His hometown is Agartala, in north-Eastern India, but he spent his childhood in different parts of the country. He loves living near the mountains in Boulder and spends the warm summers hiking and camping around Colorado. When not trying to complete his PhD, you can find him exploring the wonders of night sky with his telescope. His love for stargazing overpowers his hate for the freezing Coloradan nights.
