Kathleen Lord

Kathleen Lord has been an attorney for 37 years and is widely regarded as one of the best appellate litigators in Colorado. For 21 years, she worked at the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office Appellate Division eventually becoming the Chief Appellate Public Defender in the State of Colorado. She subsequently joined the appellate unit of the the Federal Public Defender's Office for the District for Colorado before launching a private practice focused solely on post-conviction, death penalty, and appellate cases. As KWIP's staff attorney, she supervises law student volunteers in the initial screening of applications and is the lead attorney on many of our active cases.
