Mission
As a volunteer advisory committee that consults with the Chancellor’s Office on a regular basis, the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Gender & Sexuality works to foster an inclusive campus climate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer-identified (LGBTQ) students, staff, and faculty. In striving for campus inclusion, the Gender & Sexuality Committee focuses on building cross-campus collaborations, creating spaces for dialogue, supporting campus programming, as well as fostering and recognizing leadership and scholarship related to gender and sexual diversity. The Gender & Sexuality Committee envisions a campus environment that has room for people to express and use the fullness of their humanity—including their sexuality, gender, gender identity and expression, racial and ethnic identity, and ability status—in their participation in university life.
