CU Boulder recognizes its obligation to redress systemic racism and to foster a campus culture that confronts racism and promotes equity for students, faculty and staff. CU Boulder committed to a series of actions outlined below in 2020.
Read Vice Chancellor Robert E. Boswell's announcement from July 2020 about these actions, which are shaping implementation of the Inclusion, Diversity and Excellence in Academics (IDEA) Plan.
We also commit to the immediate implementation of the Five Action Areas of Focus – known as the “CLIMB recommendations”– of the IDEA Plan, beginning with the immediate formation of the Council for Community and Inclusion to prioritize and steer ongoing actions, owners and accountability as we move into the coming academic year:
CU Boulder is introducing five diversity, equity and inclusion goals inspired by the IDEA Plan in support of greater collaboration and organizing the campus community’s next steps.
In this message, the Chancellor discusses opportunities for the CU Boulder community to connect, learn, share perspectives and expand understanding, the uplifting and inspirational events taking place as we continue to heal and recover from recent local tragedies, and the ongoing struggle to process recent sad and disturbing events.
