On Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023, Yifei Fan visited the Oceans and Climate Lab to share her latest work on sea surface temperature trends in the subpolar North Atlantic. Yifei is a graduate student of Professor Laifang Li at Penn State University, and has published detailed modeling studies on the physical mechanisms behind the warming hole (a.k.a. "cold blob") in the high latitude North Atlantic Ocean south of Greenland.
