Tamanna Talwar

McNeill Scholar and Emerging Health Professionals Coordinator, Tamanna Talwar, participated in CU’s Map the System competition in which students take a systems-thinking approach to tackling social and/or environmental challenges. She was encouraged to enter the competition after taking Suffering and Care in Society with Dr. Don Grant. Tamanna titled her project ‘Bridging the Gap on Autism and Diagnosis’ and explored the disparities and barriers that “lead to delayed access to evaluation, diagnosis and services” for low-income children and/or children of color.

Tamanna won the competition and will represent CU Boulder at the Global Map the System contest this summer at the University of Oxford, UK! Tamanna chose a topic close to her heart and presented an organized and comprehensive project.

CU Boulder’s Map the System contest was held in conjunction with the Conference of World Affairs. If you’re interested in viewing Tamanna’s presentation, she begins around the 1:12:00 timestamp.
