I’m Denali Jah, a physics researcher and educator passionate about understanding the universe at its most fundamental level. I study Engineering Physics with a minor in Applied Mathematics at CU Boulder, where my work focuses on particle jet reconstruction and Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) through high-energy nuclear experiments under Professor Jamie Nagle. I’ve contributed to the sPHENIX collaboration at Brookhaven National Lab and presented my research at the APS Division of Nuclear Physics.
Outside the lab, I care deeply about making science accessible. I co-founded Just Fund It TX, an education advocacy campaign that helped secure $11.5 billion for Texas public schools. I also founded Academia Excites, a tutoring service that supports students in building confidence and academic independence.
At CU, I serve as a Quantum Scholar and Engineering Fellow, mentoring students and organizing programs like the Quantum Hackathon. I love building things—algorithms, workshops, communities—and I’m always looking for ways to make physics more inclusive and exciting.
Denali was mentored by Dr. Jamie Nagle, in the Department of Physics at CU Boulder.
