Mike Marshak led a successful expedition to summit Mt. Rainier in under 24 hours along the standard "Disappointment Cleaver" route. The team left the Paradise Trailhead (5400' elevation) at 6:30 PM on August 4th and reached Camp Muir (10,200') by 11 PM. After an hour rest, they roped up and traversed the Cowlitz glacier to Cathedral Gap, then onward across the Ingraham Glacier and up the rocky disappointment cleaver. From there, they navigated crevassed glaciers, reaching the summit at 9:51 AM. The team successfully descended back to the parking lot by 5:30 PM August 5th.
