AMPLIFY: the November 22 Leadership Studies Minor Edition
Tune in for the second episode of CU Engage's monthly podcast, "AMPLIFY: Stories of University-Community Collaboraitons," on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. on KGNU.
On the November 22 episode, AMPLIFY host Jennifer Ciplet discusses CU Boulder's Leadership Studies Minor with undergraduate students Madaline Pellicore and Emily Schaldach, both of whom are receiving a minor in Leadership Studies and are currently taking their final Leadership Studies class, LEAD 4000, a Capstone Course. Commuinity partner Jennifer Korbelik, the University Liaison for the City of Boulder, also joins this lively conversation about the creative, collaborative leadership project they co-designed to address specific City of Boulder needs while also fostering student learning.

The Leadership Studies Minor equips CU Boulder undergraduate students from across many different majors to develop as leaders.
The program seeks students who are curious about what the academic research says about leadership and who want to practice leadership as a CU student. Through pursuing a minor in Leadership Studies, students learn new ways to think about leadership and discover their own leadership strengths. This includes learning skills such as leading project teams, managing conflict, speaking in public, and analyzing complex problems. Students in the program also gain knowledge about collaborative and inclusive leadership, ethical decision-making, and learn about issues of power and privilege.
The Leadership Studies Minor, which is housed in the School of Education, is available to CU Boulder students from all majors and colleges from across the university. The Leadership Studies Minor is also a program of CU Engage: Center for Community-Based Learning and Research, together in partnership with the Newton Chair for Leadership.
AMPLIFY is a production of CU Engage, the Center for Community-Based Learning and Research at CU Boulder, in partnership with community radio KGNU. The show aims to amplify the voices of students and community partners who are working together to generate new knowledge and ideas to tackle major public challenges. You can hear us on KGNU on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 9am, or access or show archives by visiting www.colorado.edu/cuengage/AMPLIFY.
