This panel will bring together Indigenous media makers, communicators, and journalists to discuss the role of Indigenous media outlets in their communities and beyond. Highlighting projects that focus on Indigenous and tribal radio, and on digital access, we will explore issues like language revitalization, technology and racial equity, transnational communication, and challenges to stereotyped media representations. Speakers: Sheila Nanaeto, KSUT tribal radio (Ignacio, Colorado), Hugo Morales, Radio Bilingüe, Natalie Bautista, Volunteer Producer, La Hora Mixteca, Radio Bilingüe Latino Public Radio, Kiado Cruz, SURCO / Servicios Universitarios y Redes de Conocimientos en Oaxaca A.C and María Guadalupe (Lupe) Blanco Méndez is a founding member of Radio Nahndia’a en Mazatlán Villa de Flores Magon, in the Sierra Mazateca of Oaxaca.
