Stefan Tschimben

Stefan Tschimben grew up in Meran, BZ, Italy and received a B.S. in International Business Administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Vienna, Austria, in 2013. He received a M.S. degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, in 2015, and in 2022 his Ph.D. in Telecommunications from the Computer Science Department at the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA. He is a Research Associate with the Computer Science Department at the University of Colorado, Boulder. His research interests include wireless communication, software defined radio, spectrum sharing, and the application of machine learning for signal processing. He is the author of papers investigating the potential of 802.11ah by using software defined radios and propagation modeling, and papers demonstrating the use of autoencoders for signal classification and anomaly detection in wireless communication. Previously, he was an Associate of the National Institute of Standards and Technology working on data collection for modeling Wi-Fi with GANs, a Wireless Communications Engineer for Trimble Inc. working on long range Wi-Fi projects, and a Research Assistant with the Technology & Cybersecurity Program, University of Colorado at Boulder.
