Evan Bisirri

Evan Bisirri. He is smiling and wearing an orange shirt in the middle of a hallway.

Evan received his BS and MS in biomedical engineering from Drexel University in 2018. During this time, Evan worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Center for Injury Research and Prevention under Dr. Aditya Belwadi where he designed finite element simulations to explore novel motor vehicle safety devices. In pursuit of his master’s, Evan also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant under Dr. Amy Throckmorton in the Drexel BioCirc lab. For his master’s thesis, Evan designed fluid-structure interaction simulations to study the impact of device structure, operation, and material characteristics on a collapsible impeller blood pump design for the Fontan circulation.

Evan is currently pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder and is a member of the Kaar and Schwartz labs. Evan’s research focuses on using protein engineering and single molecule (SM) techniques to study protein-surface interactions.

Outside of lab Evan enjoys the gym, hiking, and is an avid beer and mead brewer.
