My project focuses on understanding how self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) deposited on Pd nanoparticles influence the selective direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide. Specifically, I am studying how SAMs block catalytic sites for O-O dissociation and how different types of ligands (H-bonding groups and alkyl chain lengths) promote hydrogen peroxide production.
