Adira accepted into STROBE summer research program!

Congrats to undergraduate student Adira who was accepted into the summer undergraduate research program run by STROBE! STROBE is a multi-institutional organization funded by NSF that focuses on improving scientific imaging capabilities. Several research groups at CU, including ours, are STROBE members.

Katie joining chemistry faculty at Brandeis University!

A huge congrats to our postdoc Katie Shulenberger who recently accepted an assistant professorship in the chemistry department at Brandeis University! Katie will be leaving the group in the coming months and will begin her new position this summer.

In a new review in Chemical Reviews Katie Shulenberger et al. survey two decades of research on cadmium chalcogenide nanorods, including work done by the Dukovic group. The review covers the electronic structure and excited state properties of single-material and heterostructure nanorods with an eye towards a range of applications.

Katie was recently profiled on the Renewable & Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI) website. RASEI is a joint institute involving research groups at CU and at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, CO.

Katie has been named as one of two " Outstanding Postdocs of the Year ". The university-wide award recognizes postdocs who excel in research, productivity, innovation, communication, leadership, and advocating for equity, diversity, and inclusion. Congrats Katie!

DOE funds 17-group collaborative research center!

The Department of Energy has funded a $10.5 million Energy Frontier Research Center (EFRC) led by Dr. Shane Ardo of UC Irvine. The EFRC titled "Ensembles of Photosynthetic Nanoreactors" involves 17 research groups across the country, including ours, and is part of an initiative to research clean energy and low-carbon manufacturing.

Dr. Dukovic named as finalist for Blavatnik award!
